The Challenge

BWHI’s work focuses on two big challenges: ensuring that Black women and girls have access to the same standard of quality care as everyone else, without barriers, and ensuring that the evidence - the clinical research and trials - that inform that care includes Black women.

Our Approach

We advance and promote Black women’s health through three focus areas: Wellness Programs, Policy and Advocacy, and Research Translation. We target the most pressing health issues that affect Black women and girls globally, through investments in evidence-based strategies, programs, and advocacy outreach on health policies.

Our Impact

We drive systemic change through our research, programs, and subject matter experts. We advance inclusive outcomes by working to create systems that foster representative enrollment in clinical trials. And we build the capacity of Black women to access quality care without barriers.
